Ten Little Ones!

Yup, that's right, todays report shows that we still have ten little ones growing and dividing like they should. They gave me a tentative time for a transfer tomorrow and will check them tomorrow morning and if all ten, or a good number of them, are still growing strong they will call me at 9:00 a.m. to let me know they will be doing a 5dt on Monday. So right now I am tentatively scheduled for a transfer tomorrow at 1:45. As for how I am feeling, not so great. The pain down below from the retrieval is gone but I still have some pressure on my upper abdomen under my ribs and there is some serious cramping there too. Not sure what is causing it but I did tell my nurse and she told me to call her if it gets worse and they would bring me in for an u/s to make sure there is no fluid collecting there. It almost feels like the stomach virus I just got over! I am hoping that if we do the transfer tomorrow I am feeling better because I don't want to put my embies into a sick body. Also, no one has asked me how many I want to put back. When do we make that decision?

Not sure when you make that decision (the number of embies to put back). I know my RE mentioned that my wee ones are frozen in straws of 4, that 3 of them should survive, and then maybe putting back 2, but, it depends on the quality, more if they are lower quality...

Great that you have 10 growing!

Everything sounds good! How many to transfer depends on the quality. You may not find out until you get there.

10 is so great! I hope you are feeling better soon. We had pre-decided on the number months ahead of time due to my unicornuate uterus. Yet other wise they usually decide the day of I believe. Good luck sweetie!

Hope you feel better.

My fertility specialist didn't give me an option on how many to transfer (for a fresh cycle).

He said there are guidelines and they are based on age:

He said if you are under 35 years then he will transfer 2 embryos.

He said if you are 35-40 he would transfer 3.

He said if you are over 40 he would transfer 4.

Said that they were based on the egg/embryo quality. (Although he did mention that if the embryo's weren't as good of quality then we could transfer more).

Also said that frozen cycles transfer more because their survival rates are not as good.

I was asked right before the transfer how many we wanted to put in. We only had 3 and one of them was low quality so we went ahead and did all 3.

Sorry about the pain. Have you tried drinking gatorade? It's supposed to help if you have OHSS, not sure if that is what you have though. Just a thought.

Morrisa, this is awesome. What a great fert report!! Good luck tomorrow, but I'm hoping you get to do a 5dt on Monday!!

Mine didn't decide until the day of transfer how many they were going to put back. So you'll probably find out tomorrow or Monday!

Awesome news!

B and I had and idea of how many we wanted to transfer (1) but on the day of the transfer you will speak with the RE and they will give you a suggestion but ultimately it is up to you. We ended up doing two.

Good luck sweetie!

I think from your postings you are at the same clinic as me (SG??) We decided the day of transfer based on how the best embies looked that morning. The most they will do is 3, as far as I know. We joked about transferring all 8 at the last transfer, that apparently would case the RE to lose his/her job (although there are clinics out there that do it.)

Good luck! I am praying for you and hoping that everything goes smoothly with your transfer.

Oh, I hope you feel better! I think once you get a report on day five they tell you what they suggest, but its definitly up to you. 2 or 1. I know we said 2, but we may change our mind on tranfer day if they convince us that there is a super duper embroyo! :) So excited for you!!
